Today we are talking about how God (as you understand her) has a plan for you. The word ‘God’ has been deeply triggering to me over the years. I’m using the word ‘God,’ but what I am saying is ‘source of energy’ or ‘higher power’ or ‘the thing that keeps the planet spinning on its axis.’
God has a plan for your life, and you are in that plan right now, but you’re not feeling it. I can relate to that. Anxiety, insecurity, and anger grip you. You ask, “Where are the things you promised me?”
Don’t Give Up, God Has a Plan For You
I was raised as a Christian, and I have been on a spiritual journey over the years.
I have found that there is alignment between many spiritual practices out there. I don’t discriminate. I love them all. Bring whatever your spiritual path is. But for ease, let’s just call it God for today.
Build Your Spiritual Alignment with God
The same power that keeps the planet spinning in the universe is in you. However, I’m fairly sure that you feel disconnected from that. Do you ever notice if you go to a spiritual gathering, you feel greater calm? In the Immersive Journaling Experience, I ask you to do body and breath work. You feel immediately more peaceful and grounded. It’s the same scenario. You’re more aligned with your spiritual self.
There are moments when you feel tuned in to God’s plan for your life and the knowingness that you are held. Then there are all these other moments of the day where you feel completely out of control.
Focus on Creating a Purposeful Life
First things first, there is absolutely an organization to your life plan and your human design. My producer Joy said to me a lot two years ago, “My God is not a God of chaos,” and I repeat that to many people. Now, sometimes as humans, we look at the mess and call it chaos because our perception is too limited to understand it.
Although it feels very chaotic to you right now, it isn’t. God has a plan for you. It is very purposeful. It is a very intentional path.
Why Is God Punishing Me?
Along this path, we as women, have a lot of choices. One problem we create for ourselves is doubting our choices through the divorce process. We’re afraid we’re doing it wrong and disappointing God.
You feel as though you’re being punished, karma is coming to you, or you’re not a good enough Christian. Let’s just throw all of that out.
How to Find Purpose in Life
I want you to get better at hearing the path early rather than late.
Let’s imagine that God is a radio signal, and you are a radio signal receiver. You are looking for your favorite station, and you are scrolling through all the options, and you hear static. Or even worse, you’re in the in-between where you hear a few words but not enough words to know what the radio is saying, which sends you off to this indecisive, uncertain place.
God is a radio signal, you’re a radio receiver, and your job is to be tuned in.
But how?
Prioritize Health and Well Being
Prioritize your wellness. If you’re consistently polluting your mind and body by over-committing to shit you hate doing and numbing out to recover (scrolling through Instagram, drinking wine, shopping on Amazon…), you have just blocked your radio signal. How can you hear the path if you constantly commit to being out of alignment?
When you are sleeping well, eating well, focusing on your spiritual self, and listening to your path, you will be open to receiving messages from the universe. You will be tuned in. You’ll follow the message, and then shit will work out.
Finding Answers to Life
Imagine a scenario for me. You’re in so much distress that you are praying on the shower floor. God, in her infinite wisdom, comes floating down and sits on the shower floor across from you and says, “Okay, I’m here. You have questions, I have answers.” In this conversation, you learn the very specific plan for you and the steps to execute the plan. God hands you this piece of paper with a list. How much time and energy do you have to execute God’s plan now that she just handed you this piece of paper?
My point is: Nothing changes if nothing changes. Make time and space for God to come and rescue you. How collaborative are you with your higher power? How much are you showing up to execute your path?
God has a plan for you. You have a path. The problem isn’t that you’re not worth it, you’re not lovable, or that there’s something wrong with you. The problem is you spend too much of your time not tuned in. You’re pleasing so many other people.
Your job here is to recognize where you need to make more time and space to execute your higher power’s desires for you. This means prioritizing your wellness, treating your mind, body, and spirit with respect, and connecting with people who prioritize love.
Grounding Yourself
Break the cycle by staying grounded and caring more about how you feel about your higher power’s path than how everybody else feels.
It is a difficult transition. Your mission this week is to collaborate with your God consistently and then trust that process that there is a path. It’s incremental. It’s a process. And you have to do the footwork. I believe in you. God has a plan for you.
